Before Mahala’s journey in service became recognized, she worked as a hair designer in Florida and dedicated her life to her son. Her first memory of writing began at the age of twelve when she would slip off to quiet places and write poetry about upsetting experiences. In her teen years, as she witnessed others experiencing upsetting situations, she wrote poems for them as a creative way to help them feel better.
Born in Georgia, Mahala lived on a small farm. She spent most of her time outdoors with animals and nature. Her dream, when she grew up was to have a job working with animals. But, as life paved the way, she pursued first, the corporate world, then Cosmetology.
After graduating with her Cosmetology degree in 1992, she practiced for over 20 years. Then, life challenges peaked in her life. The soul called out, and she listened. She packed her belongings, closed her salon, grabbed her son by the hand, put the pets in the car and moved toward a new life. Leaving her family and all she knew behind, she moved to Western North Carolina to live on top of a mountain. This call to action required a leap based solely on faith. It was her first experience of empowerment and ultimately, an experience which empowered others.
Her new life set itself instantaneously. Mahala, the child who loved being in nature and with animals, was home. Her days were filled with volunteering at a wildlife animal sanctuary, hiking, and enjoying time with her son and his activities. She involved herself in the community by volunteering on the fire department as a licensed EMT, decorated the town for the holidays, and served at town events. She enjoyed the diverse opportunities life offered which also opened doorways for her son to experience as she often took him with her.
As the life process goes, working a full-time hair salon, trying to raise a child alone, and juggling various harmful relationships became quite overwhelming. The stage was set for the next call to action which catalyzed the re-awakening of her spirit.
Through a Near death out-of-body life-changing experience, new channels opened and led Mahala through a rigorous, 13-year cleansing and ascension process. All she knew, was, and involved in, once again, ended - initiating yet another new beginning.
She endured thirteen years of re-awakening to her sacred nature of being and mastering her heightened, extra sensory abilities and healing properties. She began life in service as she guided others with the spiritous knowledge that moved through her. This too had its ups, downs, and curveballs, but she realized that her experiences were everyone’s experiences and the knowledge gained would somehow be used to benefit all life. She barrelled through the shadows trusting that the outcome of every experience would be more miraculous than the actual temporary challenge. It was.
Mahala's salon chair has always been a catalyst allowing people to spill their hearts out freely. She spent 30 years listening to challenges, trauma, heartfelt stories and people sharing their joys and pains. Having had so many experiences herself, Mahala noticed how sharing “outside the box” insights magically transformed others restrictions and fears into freedom and empowerment. Her relationships with life and others deepened. It became clear she was to share the insight and tools which helped her along her journey as a way to help others learn how to resolve inner conflict and see with untainted eyes.
Being a natural-born underdog, she took pen to paper and began writing self-help guide books educating others on how to lead with the power of the inner spirit. Mahala has a knack for stimulating the unused areas of the mind, guiding each reader on an excursion unraveling and reconnecting the psyche, here and beyond. Her candid expressionism leads readers on an intimate journey through the self-helping to transmute chaos and reawaken the elixir of well-being; so all may embrace their own light and share their great work in this physical dimension.
Honoring a commitment made while in the presence of light beings, Mahala writes with dedication reminding us of our miraculous inner power. Through a variety of metaphysical ways, Mahala spends her time writing and teaching holistic wellness for people, animals, and all life forms. She brings forth the great mysteries and miracles of the spirit offering seekers various opportunities to reunite with their mystical being.
