As a single mother in the late 70s, author Makena McChesney joined a nondenominational Christian cult in 1978. In "Seeking Oz," she discusses the twelve years of entrapment in this cult, predominantly in the 1990s, in a rural community in the United States.
Many years hence, Ms. McChesney recently retired from working in the corporate arena as executive administrative assistant and in the public sector as a publication manager. Besides writing, she enjoys traveling, hiking, kayaking and her family of three sons, their wives, and her seven grandchildren.
