I am embarking on a “reboot” (detest the word “retirement”) of my life after forty plus years in a retail/wholesale career. As an avid twelve-year-old reader I thought that writing would be a great thing to do with my life but wondered what I would write about given my uneventful life up to that point. Fifty years later I self-published my first title, "A Toxic Education,” describing our daughter developing absence seizures which we attributed to pesticide use at her school located in our home state of Hawaii, the same one my father, four of his children (including myself), and president Obama attended. The story recounts the struggles of my wife and I to cure our daughter while trying to rid the school of the twenty-six chemicals being used, including fifteen toxic pesticides, most of them applied nearest the youngest most vulnerable students.
With three new pieces in the works including various articles and op-eds I’m finally pursuing my passion discussing topics of interest and importance to me.
