Marshall Karp has coauthored five #1 Bestsellers with James Patterson, most notably the NYPD Red series. Karp met Patterson when they both worked in advertising. About the same time James started turning out bestsellers, Karp went to LA, where he wrote for TV and film, and secretly plotted to kill many of the people he worked with in Hollywood.
One of those plots became his first novel, The Rabbit Factory, which opens with the murder of the man inside the rabbit suit in a Disneyesque theme park. Publishers Weekly in a starred review said the debut novel would “keep readers guessing to the very end,” and added “Enthusiastic readers will anxiously await the return of detectives Lomax and Biggs.” Karp obliged, continuing the series with Bloodthirsty, Flipping Out, and Cut, Paste, Kill. Karp’s collaboration with Patterson continues, but in 2016, bombarded with requests from fans asking for another Lomax and Biggs book, he self-published Terminal, a thriller where the two detectives face their most challenging case ever — find the person who is recruiting terminally ill patients to commit one final act before they die. Murder.
