Martia Rachman, E-RYT 500, LMBT, has cultivated a unique, therapeutic approach to yoga instruction by integrating her bodywork background and Ayurvedic training into a well-rounded exploration of the diverse styles, forms and philosophies of yoga. She co-founded with her husband, Brad Rachman, Black Mountain Yoga and was featured in the New York Times article, “36 Hours in Asheville,” for the innovative one-on-one therapy sessions she offers through the studio. She directs the Yoga Therapy and Teaching Program at Black Mountain Yoga and travels across the country to lead alignment-based workshops for yoga students and adjustment courses for teachers. Her comprehensive understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathology in relationship to asana and pranayama, has empowered both students and teachers of yoga to connect with a deeper awareness of their authentic nature.
