I’m a retiree who is fortunate to have a great life; a happy, challenged, and varied home life as well as successful business career, with many more miles left on the clock. I also have a wide experience, with a deep knowledge of the workings of many industries as well as being in the vanguard of information technology; I was Chairman of INTELLECT representing the whole UK ICT industry for a couple of years. I also had a great opportunity to spend a lot of time in the public sector with some deep relationships in security and defense; for example, I was appointed co-chairman alongside Robert Hannigan to lead the Security Advisory Panel to the Cabinet. Throughout all those times I observed and absorbed the strange motives of people, their politics and their interaction with others.
I also happen to have been involved in the provision of the high performance computing facility at CERN to identify the Higgs Boson. When it was discovered about five years ago, the idea came to me; just suppose that all this science was wrong, that somewhere down the line science had taken a wrong turn and we were in a cul-de-sac heavily protected by reputations and egos. This caused me to look at gravity, a force that we least understand, to question its origin and behavior and why it has always been viewed as a singular force.
I don’t regard the book as Science Fiction as a genre, but rather a fiction of science in it that challenges our current understanding of the Cosmos; it certainly doesn’t wander into the realm of deep fantasy. I hope you enjoy the book.
