Mary Ellin Lerner is a journalist and editor whose writing has appeared in numerous publications, including Ms., Self, Travel & Leisure, Audubon, USA Today and Smithsonian. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Tufts University and received her master's degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Ms. Lerner grew up in New York City and now lives in Washington, DC. She is also a jazz vocalist and enjoys performing the songs of her grandfather, Irving Berlin.
