In my 30’s, I bumped into a church that helped me see myself as spirit. Through that organization, I learned how to heal myself and others with many techniques and processes including one called Aura Healing. I later became an Ordained Minister. In my 30’s, I bumped into a church that helped me see myself as spirit. Through that organization, I learned how to heal myself and others with many techniques and processes including one called Aura Healing. I later became an Ordained Minister. I have used many of those techniques to help me create the life I have today.
Half of counseling is being able to listen and process what is being said in order to help my clients. I spent many a shift working with disabled adults in Everett, Washington, and in Cottonwood, Arizona. I have worked with adults who were facing issues as detrimental as suicide and self-abuse. In Everett, there were two gentlemen in particular who often would not allow the other staff access to their apartments. When I came on shift, I was able to get in because he trusted me. In the case of the other man, I peeked his interest in painting. We would sit for hours and he could express his feelings in a way that other staff couldn’t access. Again, this was because he trusted me.
I walked down many roads to enrich the lives of others. It seemed that any project I picked to learn became simple. Also in that time period, I learned to paint. Those around me wondered how I could paint only once and have it look like a masterpiece. I went on to read a book called The Power of the Other Hand by Lucia Capacchione. I changed from painting with my right hand to my left.
I am grateful that I have touched many lives during these last 30 years. I seemed to pick most interesting people-helping jobs and have learned from the people I encountered. Now, I have come back full circle to healing ministry I started 30 years ago.
