SELF TAUGHT CHILDREN’S PICTURE BOOK AUTHOR, ILLUSTRATOR & PUBLISHER.
Mel first became an author in 2020 and has published the following books so far;

Born & Raised
Born as a HICKSON in Mudgee, NSW Australia and raised up in Rylstone (a small country town on the outskirts of Mudgee).
As a child I rode horses, played netball and got up to lots of mischief with my middle sister; we use to put lots of pink stickers on our dog Susie , went running in the swamp whilst it was raining after we just had a bath. We were wild bush kids!
Family
I’m the youngest out of two sisters and one brother .On family road-trips my older sister had to sit in the middle , my middle sister & I as we fought a lot.
Life
Married and lives in Darwin, NT Australia with two belgian malinois (Aries & Zen) ,Milo the horse and Houdini the snake .
EDUCATION
Attended Yanco Agriculture High School (Y.A.H.S), co-ed boarding school in the NSW Riverina, from 2001-2004 and completed year 10 certificate then went into the workplace .
WORK
Worked in the following professions; Bottled Water Production worker, Bistro attendant, Resort Pool Attendant, Bar attendant, Gym supervisor, Casino Security officer and Casino Control/Surveillance operator. Currently I’m employed as a full time professional Firefighter for Northern Territory Fire & Rescue service (NTFRS) . Part time I write ,illustrates and publish children’s books.
HOBBIES & LIKES
Running, gym , outdoor fitness , netball, writing children books, chess, reading ,taking dogs to beach, making photo collages, coffee, music , movies, Netflix, Photo Apps, Peanut butter ,Laksa, paw paw salad, sushi , my family and my career.
DISLIKES
Horror movies with kids in it! Vegemite, anchovies, public bathrooms, badly made coffee and cold weather.
