Michael Dyer is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He is author of over 100 published articles concerning machine comprehension of human language text. His research interests are in the areas of: Artificial Intelligence, neurocomputing and evolution of animats (artificial animals in simulated environments). He is author of the book In-Depth Understanding, MIT Press, 1983.
Dyer is also a songwriter and musician who has produced over 10 CDs. One of these is a 2-hour musical titled: Dragon's Blood: A Radio Play & Musical. In addition, Dyer is an experienced glass blower who has created a wide variety of vases, paperweights and glass sculptures.
