I am seventeen years old, I live in Indiana with my mom, dad, older brother, and two dogs. While Stormless is my first “real” book, it is far from the first story I have told.
I have always had a fascination with reading and once I began middle school, I thought I’d try my hand at writing. As I learned and grew as a student, my writing improved as well. I connected with other readers and writers in my grade, compelling me to work even harder on my writing.
I juggled tennis, golf, writing, and reading throughout my middle school years, while also building an impressive academic resume. And of course, I always loved (and still do love) to kill a few hours on PlayStation gaming with friends. However, beginning in high school I started to take writing more seriously. After finishing my freshman tennis season, which would ultimately be the only season I played with my high school, I began formulating a new story.
Fast-forward nearly a year and after spending all summer relentlessly working on my tennis skills, I had ended up with stress fractures in both feet. I soon realized, however, that this was an opportunity for me to begin working on the project that I had been so carefully putting together in my head. And so, starting in fall of 2021, I began writing Stormless. I woke up roughly an hour earlier than I needed to on every school day to work on the project, and by May I was finished. I was paired with an editor on Reedsy, and after spending the summer working with her and revising my work.
Stormless was nearly complete.
Since then I have begun working on a new project, which is currently untitled, while continuing to finish up Stormless. Recently, I have even started a social media account as a means to connect with other writers! I never plan to stop writing stories, writing is my passion and my dream is to one day share my stories with readers all around the world. Even with Stormless books one and two nearly completed at seventeen, this is still a lofty goal, but my journey as a writer is just beginning.
