Nicole Kohr (previously Nicole Sigur) is a cystic fibrosis (CF) patient, a bilateral lung transplant recipient, and an award-winning writer. A graduate of Kean University with a degree in public relations and a minor in child psychology, Nicole has spent the past 20+ years bringing visibility to cystic fibrosis, particularly pediatrics.
A theater kid since the age of five, Nicole found her love for handicap-accessible shows through the "My Name is Matthew Program" (theater for an audience of disabled children). However, after her health began to decline, Nicole returned to her roots of writing for the theater instead of performing on stage. Nicole has spent the last two years writing and producing her original musical "Fall Risk" with the help of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and fellow CF community members. She is also a columnist for Cystic Fibrosis News Today and Cystic-Fibrosis.com.
Nicole is the Volunteer Engagement Chair for the Central Eastern North Carolina of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation where she hosts, emcees, and fundraises for CF.
In 2021, Nicole converted her LLC, Colie Creations, into a nonprofit organization. This allows Nicole to reach a broader audience when she produces inclusive children's books, visibility campaign, and productions. For more, visit coliecreations.org or fallriskthemusical.com.
