Nigel Joslin is an enthusiastically retired person who lives in Newton
Stewart (south-west Scotland) with his wife, Sue, and their dog, Ruby.
Born in Chelmsford, Essex, England, he spent much of his twenties and
thirties travelling, both for work and `between jobs', which helped fulfill
a persistent desire for adventure and exploration. However, in his late
forties, his working life declined into one so typical of this modern day.
So, he finally leapt from the rat race and landed in Dumfries and
Galloway, to live amongst the sort of rugged, wild country that he loves.
Nigel's working career included the roles of `field services' electronics
engineer, lecturer on radar and, later, self-employed technical writer
and lecturer. But now he has a new life, following different passions.
These currently include writing, hiking, astronomy, inkpen drawing,
DIY, insect photography and bird watching, and of course his ongoing
quest to study the depths that make life such a fascinating journey!
A Place Elsewhere was Nigel's first book, released in 2015, available
from Createspace, Amazon and various small outlets in Galloway.
One Way Ticket is his second book.
