Dominique “Nique La’Shae” Roberts, born on the West Side of Chicago IL but raised on the South Side, is am an aspiring poet, novelist, and essayist who has dedicated countless years to her passion of writing. She is the epitome of a Sagittarius. Growing up in Chicago, losing her father at such a young age, and encountering the trials and tribulations that she had along the way to becoming a young woman, has been the voice that inked her pen. Being an African American woman of Islamic faith has branded her with three stigmas to overcome on a daily basis but in so it has taught her a strength like no other. Her gift to combine words into poems and novels has given her not only a peace of mind, but the ability to manifest what society plagued impossible of her nature. She writes to fill the literature void, give a voice to those who lost their own, speak what other stray away from, and give others an insight into the creative word Allah gifted her with the ability to manifest.
