Oliver Smuhar is a nineteen year old, multi-award winning Australian author currently studying a Bachelor’s of Communications Journalism and International Studies at the University of Technology, Sydney.
In 2018 he published his contemporary, young adult, fantasy debut 'The Gifts of Life' just before his trial university entrance examinations in high school. Now with more free time he aims to create a series as well as many other novels.
In 2019 his debut was awarded the 'Reviewers Choice Award for Best Book Written by an Author Age 18 or Under' and the '2018-2019 Global Award' for Australia from Reader Views. On August 25th, he attended the Blue Mountain's Writer's Festival, his first ever writing convention and was very excited!
He has done several author-talks at schools, including his own and Korowal School, Hazelbrook. Nowadays, he makes video essays on the internet, tries to have a social life when he can, draws/paints, plays around on the guitar, works two part-time jobs in hospitality, walks his dog, Monte, and is excited to improve his craft.
