P.J. Patterson is a former lecturer of English literature, waylaid by a stint as a Washington D.C. foreign policy writer, and eventually returned to university life in Berkeley California, a place with which she confesses to be irrationally in love. She is a a contributor to the Mark Twain Papers Project at the Bancroft Library, where she is editor of the newsletter, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Eugene O’Neill Foundation, Tao House. Rescue Man is her first novel.
