Born in Illinois, grew up in California, Lived in or near New York, N.Y for twenty years. Did two Peace Corps volunteer assignments, one in Jack's Hill, Jamaica the other in Lampang, Thailand. Also spent two years in both India and Sri Lanka as married parttner of an American busnisman. Education completed with the earning of a Master's of Arts degree in International Relations.
