I started my literary "career" at age 11, writing poetry. In college I took it seriously and learned more. In my twenties, my chapbook "Corridors and Surprises" was published by Morgan Press.
When I decided I wanted to write fiction I took an MFA at Brooklyn College where I studied with Jonathan Baumbach and Peter Spielberg of the "Fiction College" (Now "FC2 ")
My novel, "Brooklyn Valentine" was self published and won first prize for popular fiction in the "IPPY" contest. (Independent Publishers)
My short story, "Ain't No Word But Lonely" won first prize (and $5,000) in the Internation Short Story Project contest.
My short story, "Facing Zayda" was a winner in "Glimmertrain's" Family Matters contest,
My play, "Downstairs, Front" was selected for the 2018 Fresh Fruit Festival in NYC, and was a finalist in the 2023 Carlo Annoni Playwriting Contest.
