Rebecca Laxton has served school communities as an afterschool program director, teacher, and school psychologist. She was named the Kentucky School Psychologist of the Year for collaborating with teachers and administrators to write and evaluate an emotional intelligence curriculum. Currently working as a dyslexia practitioner, she encourages her students to love reading and writing. Her memior essay, "Throw Like A Girl," can be found in The Love of Baseball (McFarland 2017). Rebecca earned a Master of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a concentration in creative writing and children’s literature and has undergraduate degrees in English and Psycholgy from Georgetown College.
