R.J. Norgard began working as a reporter and photographer while still in high school, sparking a lifelong love of writing. During the era of the draft, he was forced to forgo a career in writing for a 20-year stint in the U.S. Army Intelligence. His various Army assignments led him to Alaska where he began a new career as a private investigator and defense investigator, and it was these experiences that formed the basis for the characters and settings in his first Sidney Reed novel, Trophy Kill. He now lives in northern Ohio where, when he’s not writing, he can be found on a tennis court, sailing on Lake Erie, or working on some local volunteer project. He is actively involved in the local historical society and is president of a nonprofit group that restored a historic lighthouse. He is currently working on his third Sidney Reed novel.
