A Tennessee native and former Texas resident, Robert Wuench has a deep appreciation for the unique historical bond between the two states. “Ashes on His Boot” is his second published novel featuring early 19th Century Texas. His first, co-authored with Howard Carman, is titled “Thorn of Béxar’ and is available on Amazon and at Barnes & Noble online.
The author is a civil engineer, retired US Army Armored Cavalry captain and former Caterpillar executive. He and his family have lived in the US, Germany, Switzerland, South Africa and Kenya. Robert Wuench’s business and personal travels have taken him to more than 52 countries. Currently he and his wife live in Solon, OH.
In his professional career Robert has served on the executive boards of Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift in Houston, Kalmar Rough Terrain Center (KRTC) – Cargotec in San Antonio (HQ in Finland), Pon Ltd, Amsterdam and Daily Equipment Co. of Jackson, MS. He was elected president of the US Industrial Truck Associaion, a major manufacturing trade group, while employed by Caterpillar.
As an author Robert Wuench is a member of the British Historical Novel Society, the Great Lakes Historical Novel Society and Publishers’ Marketplace. For the last three years he has retained Charlotte Cook of Oakland, CA as a professional writing coach and story editor.
