Roberta M Roy’s book, Poems by Roberta M Roy, Slivers medaled in the 2020 Jenkins International eLit Awards in Poetry as did Jolt: a rural noir, in the 2011 Jenkins Living Now Awards of Inspirational Fiction. Since then Roy has written a sequel to Jolt, Two Close: a story of survival (ALVA Press 2018). Roy’s work as an editor interviewer has drawn praise for The ALVA Axiom Anthology of Author Interviews (ALVA Press 2014). Straight from the Robin’s Nest (2015) is a collection of essays Roy wrote on a variety of timely topics.
Roy holds a B.A. in English from the State University College at Albany (SUNYA), an M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Nebraska, and has done post Master’s study at the University of Michigan. Roy is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of New York. She resides in the Mid-Hudson Valley in New York State where she is the creative lead and owner operator of alvapressinc.com.
