Antonio Casares is a Cantabrian poet who was born in 1946 in the Picos de Europa and died in Santander, Spain in 2021. He has published several books of poetry, including El infierno de los dias, Madre Liebana and Musa Liebaniega. His work is also included in several anthologies of poetry. In 1999 he received the prize of the Ministry of Culture of the government of Cantabria for a poem. Casares is also known as a founding member of the Cantabrian rock group, the Dixies, and a lyricist for several legendary Spanish bands.
