I have a BA in English Literature from UGA, MA in English Literature from Boston College. 20 years of teaching at Georgia Tech and UGA, 11 years of teaching writing to heal at an outpatient cancer center. My fiction has been published in Crab Orchard Review, Cleaver, Confrontation, H.O.W. Journal, The China Grove Journal, The Intima.com, The Examined Life Journal, The New Quarterly, The Lullwater Review, and I have been short-listed for the Fish and Bridport Prizes. My poetry has appeared in Stone, River, Sky: An Anthology of Georgia Poems, The 2011 Hippocrates Prize for Poetry and Medicine The Apalachee Review, The Healing Muse, Ars Medica, and in my chapbook, Brancusi’s Egg, from Finishing Line Press. I have also published in the field of writing therapy. I have been a fellow at the Hambidge Center and at the Squaw Valley Community of Writers. My radio play A Wagner Matinee, was aired on BBC Radio and NPR. I live in Athens, GA with my husband, Todd. We have four grown children.
