Born in Kolkata, Sayantan Datta grew up influenced by a diverse cultural landscape, abundantly spotted by influences of Tagore, and layered with Western influences.

He started writing early in a wide variety of publications. Poetry became a dominant form of expression, parallel to an education in Engineering & Management and a career in Business Consulting.

His inspirations draw from the conflict of values, faith & politics, and commoners' struggle through it, in the intersection.
