Scott Dow developed a great love of sports and competition with his first love being baseball, a sport he played competitively from high school into his 30s. Graduating from Bucknell with a BSME in 1981, Dow embarked on an entirely undistinguished engineering career until, around 1990, he stumbled across the field of vibration analysis on machinery, where he and his partner started a small business specializing in the technology. Although possessing an engineer’s mind governed by logic and reason, the dominant part of Dow’s brain is his creative and fun-loving side.
Before his tragic death, Ian and Scott led their respective teams in Flem Cup competition for five years. Dow remains an avid sportsman, continuing to golf, curl, play basketball and soon hopes to try his hand at paddle tennis.
