Shailaja Laxman is passionate about education and mental health. She holds a Master’s of Science in Education, a postgraduate diploma in Child Psychology and holds certifications in Depression Counselling, Adolescent Counselling, Grief and Bereavement Counselling and PTSD Counselling.

She wrote her first children's book "The Boy From Afar" - a book to inspire more refugee children to live out their greatest dreams and enjoy their grandest adventures by letting them know that everything will be okay eventually.

Shailaja is a mentor, educator and change maker who is passionate about creating social and environmental impact.
