Sherry Meidell has worked as a professional artist, starting her career as a graphic designer, continuing as an illustrator for children’s books, magazines, and painting watercolors that have been shown and won awards in regional and national exhibits. She is a signature member of the National Watercolor, Western Federation of Watercolor Societies and Utah Watercolor Society. She has received numerous awards including best of show at the UWS Spring Exhibition 2015 and top award at the 2014 Arts in the Parks plein air competition at Capitol Reef National Park and Society of Illustrators Los Angeles Illustration West 41 and 42 Competition Certificate of Merit. She has taught watercolor classes, and over the past decade has presented multiple workshops and classes on children’s book writing and illustrating, art principles, using a sketch book to improve skill and confidence, and watercolor painting and technique. Besides art, she has loved running marathons (well maybe not running them), mountain biking, hiking and camping while her and her husband have raised five boys
