I am a psychiatrist who has practiced in Connecticut, Florida and Queensland, Australia.
My extensive experience working with people with relationship problems led to my non-fiction book, "Say Goodbye to your PDI (Personality Disordered Individual). Recognize People Who Make You Miserable and Eliminate Them from Your Life for Good!" I wrote this book to help many people recognize that they are being guilted as the cause for a loveless, non-gratifying relationship by the other person who manipulates and controls them. With that insight, the suffering person can give up their guilt and go on to live a happy, fulfilling life.
My new fiction novel, The Looney Bin, tells of quirky mental health professionals dealing with their own emotional baggage and how they either face it or keep fooling themselves to keep that perfect self-image. Rich in crisp dialog, The Looney Bin dives deeply into the hearts and souls of these characters and lays bare their inner secrets, fears, passions and self-deceit. It shows the lengths to which people will go to preserve that self-perception of perfection.
Along with writing a widely read news column on mental health, I have hosted a radio call-in show in addition to appearing on numerous TV and radio programs as an expert on mental health issues.
Now thriving in sunny, southwest Florida, I'm hoping that The Looney Bin not only tells a compelling story, but may also inspire some reader introspection leading to happier, more fulfilling lives.
