Stephen C. Pollock, now 67, has played a potpourri of parts over the course of his life: neuro-ophthalmologist and associate professor at Duke University (1987-2004); inventor (U.S. Patent 4,477,158); co-founder and chief executive of CEC, a vision benefits company (1998-2017); and writer (Rolfe Humphries Poetry Prize, 1977).
