Steve Ochs (pronounced Oaks), then working as Steve O. (pronounced Oh!), rode the standup comedy wave of the 80’s and 90’s, touring clubs and making numerous television appearances. His bookings were bolstered by a couple of Star Search wins, one of which led to a re-match on a Howard Stern pay-per-view special. The high point of his standup career was having his idol Richard Pryor call him, “One funny motherfucker.”
After switching careers to writing, Steve penned dozens of episodes of the multiple Emmy winning series Rugrats, Steven Spielberg presents Toonsylvania and many more. #1 With a Bullet is Steve’s first novel.
During his two-decade stretch as partner in HERO Entertainment Marketing, a top tier Hollywood product placement agency, he kept his creative muscles flexed with various projects such as the elaborate short film Le Petomane, a one man show and releasing a self-help book. Titled MIDMEN: The Modern Man’s Guide to Surviving Midlife Crisis, the book reached number one bestseller on Amazon and earned the International, Beverly Hills, North American and USA book awards.
Steve lives between Los Angeles, California and Portland, Oregon, with his wife, Julie.
