Born and brought up in Brooklyn, NY, Stuart Jay Silverman taught English at Auburn University, The University of Illinois, Urbana, then Chicago, and The City Colleges of Chicago. Aside from several hundred restaurant reviews, travel essays, and the famous “miscellaneous prose,” he’s published over 700 poems in periodicals here and abroad, and, now, three books of poetry, including Report from the Sea of Moisture (Atmosphere Press, 2020) and most recently, Drifters (Atmosphere Press, 2021). He and his wife, Sondra Rosenberg, divide their time between homes in Chicago, Illinois, and Hot Springs, Arkansas.
