Terry L. Fossum was born in a Texas/Mexico border town, surrounded by gangs and drugs. In Junior High, he found himself staring down the barrel of an assault rifle one night in his own back alley. In High School, his father was killed. Before he died, one of their neighbors came up to him and said, “I just want to make sure you understand something: Not a single one of your three boys will ever grow up to be anything.”
About 30 years later, one of Terry’s brothers is a US Astronaut, the other a highly successful dentist, and Terry is a millionaire philanthropist.
Terry received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University. From there, he received a commission as an Officer in the United States Air Force, and was assigned to Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington. Among other duties, he served as the Executive Officer for the entire Group of Nuclear-equipped B-52 Bombers, KC-135 Air Refueling Aircraft, T-37 Training Aircraft, and UH-1 Search and Rescue Helicopters. Among numerous other awards, he was named Officer of the Year for Fairchild AFB, Humanitarian of the Year for Strategic Air Command, and Distinguished Graduate from Squadron Officers’ School.
He started a small business in 1991 and grew it into an international force with hundreds of team members doing business in more than a dozen countries.
His philanthropic efforts literally span the globe. In just two examples, learning that a child was dying every 6 seconds in Malawi, Africa, Terry helped fund a school to teach advanced agricultural techniques to the villages. As of 3 years ago, not a single person died of malnutrition in the entire country. After the genocide in Rwanda left over a million people dead, he helped fund a school to teach marketable skills to the widows and orphans.
He has written two books, the latest of which, ‘Passion to Move Mountains – The Oxcart Technique’ has garnered high praise nationally and internationally.
Today he helps individuals, businesses, and large groups reach new heights through coaching, seminars and keynote speaking.
He loves spending time with his family, being a Scoutmaster, a Rotarian, and practicing martial arts, where he’s a Black Belt.
