In a long and active life I spent 12 years in retail management, followed by nearly thirty years in the chemical industry, during which time I travelled a great deal all over the world. In 2001, I retired to Bournemouth, where I played golf and began to write seriously. For health reasons, I reluctantly gave up golf in 2011 and concentrated on my writing, gardening, voluntary work and snooker.
In 2015, after a trip to Poland and Auschwitz, I wrote a short memoir, from which I was invited to read at a literary festival in Ireland in 2017. My first novel, The Supervisor, was published in the same year, together with some poetry. This spurred me to write The Stoker Trilogy, a narrative covering the first fifty years of the 20th century. Charles and Charlie, is book one of the set. It tells the tale from 1905 through WW1 to 1930 and is released on 30th October 2020 by my publishers, Austin Macauley.
The second book, The Tallyman, telling of the next ten years in the lives of the Stokers up to the outbreak of war in 1939, will be released in 2021.
