Like many readers, I've made the transition from merely observing to creating. I earned a degree in Creative Writing at the University of Wollongong, Australia. My Honours thesis concerned representations of messianic figures in the works of Rushdie and Kazantzakis, two authors who've strongly influenced my work. Before and after this academic pursuit I've held the sorts of jobs that are both quite unusual and yet fit right into an author's bio: anything from manually washing dishes in a Chinese restaurant to archiving videos of sewer systems.
I currently live in Sydney with my partner Kate and two Norwegian Forest Cats.
Blackcloak: A Man of his Sword is my first novel.
