WILLIAM IVOR FOWKES is an author and playwright based in Manhattan and Connecticut, a member of the Dramatists Guild and the Pulse Ensemble Theatre Playwrights’ Lab in New York, and a graduate of Yale University (BA, magna cum laude) and Northwestern University (MA, PhD). His plays have been presented in 12 states and the District of Columbia. Several have been published. His short fiction has been published in many literary journals.
His books include A Hegelian Account of Contemporary Art (UMI Research Press) and Skyline: Tales of Manhattan. He has been a philosophy professor, a promotion copywriter, and a marketing executive at several media companies, most recently a Marketing VP at Showtime Networks. He is married to Stephen Michael Smith, a music conductor, and has two daughters, Laura and Julia, in the fashion industry in New York.
