Above Suspicion; The True Story of Russell Williams Serial Killer
Young girl's panties started to go missing; sexual assaults began to occur, and then female bodies were found! Soon this quiet town of Tweed, Ontario, was in panic. What's even more shocking was when an upstanding resident stood accused of the assaults. This was not just any man, but a pillar of the community; a decorated military pilot who had flown Canadian Forces VIP aircraft for dignitaries such as the Queen of England, Prince Philip, the governor general, and prime minister of Canada. This is the story of serial killer Russell Williams, the elite pilot of Canada's Air Force One, and the innocent victims he murdered. Unlike other serial killers, Williams seemed very unaffected about his crimes and leading two different lives. Alan R. Warren describes the secret life including the abductions, rape, and murders that were unleashed on an unsuspecting community. Included are letters written to the victims by Williams and descriptions of the assaults and rapes as seen on videos and photos taken by Williams during the attacks.

Above Suspicion is a brief but thorough analysis and review of the violent crimes committed by the sadistic lust killer, Colonel Russell Williams, of the Canadian Forces Air Command. A chameleon in fatigues, Williams was a respected airman by day while stalking and raping numerous women near his Ottawa suburb at night. He took numerous photos of himself wearing the underwear of his victims and stole various items as souvenirs. Warren’s ability to evoke empathy for Williams’ wife Mary Elizabeth is commendable as she comes across as an uncaring woman who demands taxpayers cover the costs for her damaged floors after police searched her home. Warren goes into detail about how Williams was caught, giving information about the tire tracks found near a crime scene that matched his vehicle. I would have enjoyed more information about his police interview because Russell Williams entered the room full of confidence and in less than four hours, he admitted his crimes after being confronted with irrefutable evidence. Overall, this was an informative book about a merciless psychopath who hated women despite his high rank in the military. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about the dangerous life of Colonel Russell Williams.

True Crime fans are going to love this one! Taut and very compelling, Warren expertly walks us through one of the most shocking crimes in Canada's history thus far. As a Canadian, I was familiar with this case, however, I wasn't familiar with some of the particular details of how he tried to blame others for his crime and how he acted and behaved after committing his crimes. The gall of this man was unbelievable. Highly recommend this read. I will be looking for more from this author for sure.

Shocking true story of crimes committed by someone thought to be above suspicion for such terrible acts. This story told in this book is truly "a frightening reminder of the unpredictability of human behavior." A must read for true crime genre.

It is hard to fathom that someone whom has even piloted the Queen of England could commit such heinous crimes as ex-Colonel Russell Williams had. The book shows how Russell Williams broke into women's homes, raped them and posed in pictures with the victims' lingerie. The book includes photos as well as written letters by Williams. The author did a great job keeping me interested in the story. I highly suggest this book to anyone who reads true crime.
