“When I opened the book Felix & Booboo, I was immediately engaged by the story and colorful illustrations. My first thought was, “My son’s a paramedic. I have to get these for my grandchildren!” What a fun way to explain what Daddy does every day. As I read further, I realized Dr. Nicole’s series would be an invaluable resource for my ESL teaching. I plan on ordering the whole set, half for my family and half to take back to China. Thank you, Dr. Nicole, for writing a book that teaches health to children across cultures. “

Children are curious about everything, but do they know the signs and what causes chickenpox? Amy Has a Rash: Chickenpox by Dr. Nicole Audet is an easy to read and colorful children's book about Amy and her small red bumps. Your child will enjoy reading this book because it will help them to understand their bodies. One day, Amy noticed that she was covered from head to toe with little red bumps, so she called her friend Felix and his magical doctor bag. In his bag, Felix has everything to help ease the pain, stop the itching and to reduce a fever that Amy was experiencing with the chickenpox. Your child will not only learn a lot about chickenpox, but will love meeting the helpful characters in Felix’s magical doctor’s bag - from Hot, Pill, Booboo, Mr. Long, Loop and Toc to Ahhh.

This beautifully illustrated children's book is part of the Felix and Booboo Series. I enjoyed it so much because it allowed Dr. Audet to connect with children in an educational yet playful way. Children have a lot of questions and the books in the Felix and Booboo Series have the answers. To keep your child engaged in learning, Dr. Audet has posed questions for your child to help gauge their understanding of the subject, while giving advice to parents as well. Dr. Nicole is a multi-award winning best-selling author, based in Quebec. She writes children’s books that educate, inspire and teach valuable life lessons.

WILMINGTON, NC, March 03, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ — Multi-award-winning children’s book author Dr. Nicole has announced the release of a new book in the Felix and Booboo Series, ‘Maya Visits Her Doctor: Vaccination’. Vaccinations are a very big issue for young children. The new book is one of a series of eight books that address medical issues and make them understandable for young children. The goal is to increase the child’s understanding of her body and to help eliminate fear of diseases and medical procedures. This series is also available in French (Felix et Boubou) in paperback, Kindle and PDF versions.

In this book, Felix’s sister Maya was afraid to go to the doctor for a vaccine. Fortunately, Felix, assisted by Booboo and his magical doctor’s bag, help her get over her fears. Lucky Maya. She receives a beautiful princess sticker for her collection. Young readers of this book will find out all the secrets of a medical visit and vaccination.

“My true intentions regarding writing Felix and Booboo series are to inspire children to read, to set their imaginations free and to encourage good decision-making regarding health, safety and critical thinking,” Dr. Nicole stated. “Writing children’s books is a way for me to give back and be a positive resource to the community. It is a way that I can positively express myself while having some fun and at the same time be a positive role model for both children and caregivers. I hope that my books inspire children to set their minds free and work to make the world a better place. In the book Maya Visits Her Doctor, my intention was to explain the annual medical visit and pre-school vaccination. I hope it may help parents and their care givers to prepare their children before visiting their doctor.”

In addition to vaccinations, other subjects covered in the series include gastroenteritis, broken bones, head lice, allergies, the human body, otitis and chickenpox. All of the books in the series can be used by educators and medical professionals to help kids understand that these types of conditions are normal and are not to be feared or avoided.

In the traditions of Walt Disney and Dr. Seuss, Dr. Nicole breathes life into inanimate objects and wildly entertaining characters that engage children in powerful ways. Through the parent/child interaction, her works develop a love for reading while helping children develop the most important skill of all – critical thinking. If a child can master the art of critical thinking, nearly everything else falls into place.

Dr. Nicole’s books have won numerous international awards. A full listing of the awards can be found on her website.

‘Maya Visits Her Doctor: Vaccination’ has received Readers’ Favorite 5 stars. Reviewer Mamta Madhavan for Readers’ Favorite stated, “The concept is excellent as it helps children like Maya to get rid of their fears. The quiz at the end of the book is educational and fun. The illustrations are delightful and they bring the characters and the story alive. I like the manner in which the author describes Maya’s check-up at Doctor Bones’ office and her vaccination. She makes children aware of what goes on inside a doctor’s clinic in an engaging and interesting way. This series is a must-have in one’s personal collection as it enables parents to help children understand different concepts and situations in a way that is appealing. It is a good story for classroom storytelling and read aloud sessions as children can be taught about medical visits in a fun and interactive way.”
