His past no longer matters. Her future must wait. In the mountains there's only right now. Ellis Cooper heads up to the Mount Laurel Ski Instructor Training Program hoping to reinvent herself, but her plan goes awry when she's paired up with a surprise trainee--Dylan, the scariest guy from her school--the guy who stalks her almost everywhere. What Ellis doesn't realize is Dylan has hopes of his own about his time at Mount Laurel: he hopes that if everyone leaves him alone, he'll be able to escape his past and rekindle his love of the outdoors. When Ellis and Dylan's resort world and all of their hopes crash--literally--around them, they'll need to depend on each other in order to survive.

WOW! This book took me by surprise. Denise Jaden is extremely talented, and I am officially a new fan of hers. Her writing pulled me in, which is very difficut to do because I am a picky reader. The book is clean, and the characters were so raw and vulnerable in their own way. The pain and vulnerability, the strength and faith, and the personal growth, forgiveness, and pure love were beautifully captured in this story. The emotions were described in a way that I felt every bit of them, and the story was told in a way that made me feel like I was actually there and one with the characters. Extremely satisfied!

If you are looking for a gift for a young teen that likes to read Denise Jayden's books are highly recommended. I don't even meet this criteria and I love her books. This is the second I've read and her writing style draws you in. Get ready for a lack of sleep because I just couldn't put it down.

I'm a huge fan of disaster romance stories, my usual are books based on being stranded on a desert island. This one is set in the snow setting however still ticks all the right boxes for me.

Ellis is a girl that lives in the shadows and she wants to use spring break as a chance to break out of her shell. With some persuasion she volunteers to help out at a ski resort thinking it is the perfect opportunity to meet new people, her best friend won't be with her and she wants to try and be her own person.

Dylan's family have left him home alone for spring break and he decides to find his own source of entertainment. He too decides to volunteer at the ski resort and uses the opportunity to try and get close to Ellis.

Both are a little socially awkward and don't hit it off straight away but time together may just show them how good they can be for each other.

This book has romance, personal growth and obviously an avalanche.
The characters are well developed and diverse. The story keeps you wanting more right to the end.

5+ stars out of 5.

An avalanche of emotions…
There’s more to Ellis than she lets people see. People at her high school see her as too submissive, too sweet, too kind, and too Japanese. She never really stands out from the shadows, almost invisible. Ellis is afraid of being herself, being Asian. Her decision to volunteer at a ski resort changes everything—she meets Dylan and with his love, she is no longer terrified of being whole, she learns life is complicated, messy. And that’s okay.
Avalanche is part disaster flick part teenage angst; two people that lived in the shadows learn to shine. Denise Jaden tackles heavy hitting emotions head on in her novels and this newest installment told in alternate POV’s of Ellis and Dylan is no different.

I had the opportunity to read an advanced review copy of Avalanche by Denise Jaden before it was released and I loved it. It's my kind of story with adventure and young love. The characters are from diverse backgrounds and find themselves in a situation where they must learn to depend on each other. The setting of a ski instructor camp in a mountain resort area is unique and intriguing. And once Ellis and Dylan are thrust into a life or death survival situation it's hard to put the book down.
