No one who reads this book will be able to say, "I could not find a chapter, a story or even a paragraph that relates to me." The refreshing and vulnerable writing style of Shannon Kuzmich is intoxicating, as well as inspiring. "Awakening: The Chronicles of Formation - Volume 1" is the kind of "page-turning" book that is difficult to put down. I couldn't. I had to finish it in one sitting. And then I went back to see what I had highlighted to meditate upon for my own formation. A very personal veil is torn away, revealing the brutal, painful humanity of life along side its beauty and hope. And one's soul is touched. I found myself smiling, sad, angry, joyful, encouraged and having to brush away an occasional tear. I am eager to continue the author's faith journey of "real life meets faith transformation" in her next book: "Leaving: The Chronicles of Formation - Volume 2".
