In Big Chin Moves To Heroland! by Sawyer Ique, Big Chin is a companion to Van and has to entertain and help him. They have a lot of fun together by doing amusing things that make them smile and laugh. Big Chin was always helping, even on bad days, by removing a sad frown. Van’s father, Heff, discovered a community called Heroland with real superheroes. The superheroes worked together to stop the bad actions of their enemies. Van’s mother, Olga, was not happy that Big Chin had to leave, as she was afraid that Van would be upset. Van was very disappointed that Big Chin was going to Heroland, but Big Chin was very excited because of the adventures that awaited him. He was known for getting rid of enemies and helping others in need.
Big Chin Moves To Heroland! by Sawyer Ique is a very engaging and captivating story. Big Chin went from helping Van to helping his new community in Heroland. He was very helpful and that is a valuable example for children. They can understand the message and they will remember the lesson. The characters are likable and children can relate to them, imagining that they are Big Chin. I liked the illustrations as they are lively and colorful and complement the text on the page. I just wanted to turn each page to see what was coming next. Both boys and girls will enjoy this book. The author used interesting language that was pleasing, and the words flowed naturally from page to page.
