Berlin 1939 - 1943 From the smoking ruins of a bombed Berlin brothel, three shocked and injured female survivors are taken to a secluded training facility by Nazi officer, Gruppenführer Walter Schellenberg. Where to start?! Within the first few pages I was invested in all 3 of the main protagonists and the character development throughout does not disappoint. This book is immersed in well-researched facts which makes the storyline even more impressive, it’s like having an intensive history lesson whilst being taken on a fabulous fictitious journey! The scenes are set perfectly, the author takes you to Nazi Germany without you having to try to forcefully imagine it. The attention to detail is impeccable and I found myself reading up about places, events, training methods and more after I’d finished the book as it had piqued my interest so much! The author has done wonderfully well to weave so much truth into the story which adds so much to the plot line, which is also followed in perfect chronological order of events. A must-read for anyone with an interest in this wonderful genre of historical fact meets fiction. I cannot wait to see what book 2 brings!
