Australian Entrepreneur Pete Williams, passes on traditional six-figure book adv

It’s not everyday you find people turning their backs on 6-Figure checks, yet that is what Australian entrepreneur, and author of the upcoming book Cadence: A Tale of Fast Business Growth has done.

After crafting the original book proposal with creative advisory firm Brass Check (Ryan Holiday, Tim Ferriss, Tony Robbins, Lewis Howes), Williams wasn’t liking the limited vision and cookie-cutter approach being offered by the conventional publishing houses and community; so decided to turn his back on the large advance traditionally offered and do something he’d have more control over.

Completely forgoing any upfront advance, in exchange for more control, marketing flexibility and a higher royalty, Williams is doing what a number of other best-selling authors are doing to guarantee that the book won’t be another one of the average nonfiction books selling less than 250 copies per year (and less than 2,000 copies over its lifetime).

“Doing my first book with a traditional international publisher opened my eyes a lot” Williams said “… and this time I wanted to have a lot more control over the books destiny. Working with the Morgan James team provides the perfect balance between self-publishing and a traditional house - and allows us to do a lot more creative things around the book and it’s release.”

“We’re very excited to have someone of Pete’s caliber decide to work with us.” said David L. Hancock, Founder and CEO of Morgan James Publishing. “We pride ourselves on blending the strength of traditional publishing with the flexibility of self-publishing, and are really looking forward to seeing Cadence hit the best-sellers list with us.”
