Confessions of a Neighbor
Right now there could be hidden eyes crawling over your skin. It has never been easier to become a stalker. Concealed cameras can be placed everywhere: in books, mirrors, alarm clocks, even coat hooks and light bulbs. You could be being watched right now. This psychological mystery will forever change the way you look at your neighbors. When a young dancer begins to watch her neighbors in their luxurious Zurich penthouse, she has no idea what shameful scenes will play out across the street. Orphaned, she is alone in the world. So when Ella runs into her sexy and brilliant neighbor and he confesses his secret, she is vulnerable. He is almost double her age. He is married. Yet Ella is startled to discover she is desperate to get close to him. The neighbor begins a game of cat and mouse with Ella, pulling her in and pushing her away. Eventually Ella is pulled into the neighbor’s web of lies, abuse, betrayal. But it isn’t until Ella finds cameras hidden all over flat, that she fears for her life. She flees Zurich. Settling into a small Swiss town Ella finds solace in a new patchwork family and her ballet, yet she still feels eyes upon her, following her every movement. Ella is terrorized by worry: has her stalker followed her from Zurich? Is it mere voyeurism, or are the eyes that watch those of a depraved sociopath? And just when Ella believes all her dreams of becoming a ballerina are coming true, a horrifying surprise threatens to steal everything away. Because someone wants what Ella has, and they’re wiling to kill for it. Be prepared for not-quite-what-they-seem lives, betrayals and manipulation. This psychological mystery set in Switzerland is impressively creepy. If you liked The Girl on the Train you’ll love Confessions of a Neighbor. “Amazing scenery, vivid descriptions and intense emotions are just part of the appeal of Confessions of a Neighbor: A Mystery in Switzerland by Heather Nadine Lenz. In this hard to put down story, you develop a real attachment to Ella and suffer along with her as she deals with issues from her past, her insecurities about the future, and the everyday struggles of trying to live while following her dreams. Wonderful descriptions of setting and ballet add a lot to the realism of the story. Well done! Psychological manipulation plays a large part in the story and Lenz sets the scene slowly and deliberately, then shocks you when the trap is sprung. This is a book that is well worth reading on many levels.” -Reviewed by Melinda Hills for Readers’ Favorite

“Confessions of a Neighbor by Heather Nadine Lenz tells the story of Ella, a hopeful 16-year-old ballet dancer whose dream is to one day be able to make a living as a ballerina. Fate, however, has other plans for the young woman who lost her mother as well as her grandmother far too early. She is lonely and ends up falling victim to an evil scheme. Fortunately, she also has someone who is secretly looking out for her well-being. But the eyes of that secret helper cannot be everywhere. I enjoyed reading Confessions of a Neighbor by Heather Nadine Lenz.”
