My latest novel, Counterfeit Superman, is almost finished. It's sci-fi lite, set in dystopian Tucson, Arizona, in 2042-3. It follows a woman grad student in social anthropology who is working on a homelessness dissertation. Along the way she and her boyfriend make a surprising discovery that leads to the solution of a 20-year-old murder of an archaeology professor as well as the take-down of a fertility clinic engaged in illegal gene-editing. My eight beta readers mostly agree that Counterfeit Superman is "an enjoyable read," spiced with humor and social commentary.
