Flawless, Beautiful, Deep, and Dark
I read this in paperback. This is an unsolicited review.
Well... I just finished this book from anonymous poet, _hydrus. I definitely will be buying his others because if I could give this more stars I would. For me, the length of the book was perfect, at just over 200 pages. He combines short, generally rhyming poems, alongside with gorgeous, moody black and white photography and graphic art.
Clearly he put a lot of thought into this work of art. It’s stylish. It’s moody. It’s easy to read. It’s something that, if I had a coffee table, I’d have this sitting there for anyone to read at any time. He has one-line deep thoughts mixed in and some of them were so profound I just simply stopped reading and stared at the page as my mind went off into deep-thought mode.
From its handsome cover to the font chosen to the artistic embellishments to the poetry itself... this is a real treasure. Highly recommended for those who appreciate dark modern poetry with creative flair. This book gets my rarely handed out, 5/5.

“DarkEND” was a surprise release & what a fantastic surprise it was! I have reviewed their other books, “ENDvisible” & “AwakEND”. I am absolutely obsessed with this poet’s style & each book has its own vibe.
Aside from the poetry, Hydrus includes pictures they took themselves & I feel like it gives the book more of a personal element. “DarkEND” in particular uses poetry and photography is such a beautiful/powerful way.
Hydrus took a darker tone with their poems, as well as addressing more mature topics & imagery. (18+ warning!) I thoroughly LOVE dark poetry so this book just fueled my love for Hydrus’s poems!
I could rave all day about how much I just enjoy reading Hydrus’s work. If you love dark poetry, don’t mind a bit of passion & lust, want to read poetry that flows, I recommend “DarkEND”, as well as any of Hydrus’s books!
This poet is one of my absolute favorites and I can’t wait to read their next release! ;)
This by far is the best poetry book I have read. It was flawless, raw, intense, dark and steamy.
An impressive mixture of poems that blend together so perfectly.
They made me emotional, sad and aroused at the same time. I felt the pain, the love, the loss, the heartbreak, the passion and the desire coming out of those pages.
All the feels, in all the right places.
You will relate to many of the poems. They will touch you so deep, because we all have experience these emotions at some point in our life.
Must have for sure.
