Dinner, Drinks & Death; The True Story of Dennis Nilsen
In the middle-classed neighborhood of Muswell Hill, underneath a spectacular residence located at 23 Cranley Gardens, a gruesome discovery was about to be unearthed. While working on drainage pipes of the house at that location, a plumber discovered several bones and a flesh-like substance covering the inside of the pipes. The pipes led to the top floor apartment of the residence. It was rented to Dennis Nilsen, a 37-year old, quiet, soft-spoken civil servant. Nilsen was also a retired policeman with military service. Shockingly, the police were about to discover Dennis Nilsen was also one of Britain's worst serial killers.

Drinks, Dinner, & Death: The True Story of Dennis Nilsen was a great read. Concise, well written, and informative enough to create the appropriate outrage at the atrocities committed by Dennis Nilsen. From his beginnings to his death in prison, I was left with a sense that he was being protected by some divine source. How many times could this man be questioned by police and them still not catch on? He literally had to call the authorities on himself before it was discovered that he was a serial killer. I highly recommend Alan R. Warren’s book on Dennis Nilsen if you want to get into the mind of one of Britain’s most notorious serial killers.

I have read all the books so far in the series of these True Crime Story. This one reminded me of Jeffrey Dahmer. Dennis Andrew Nilsen seemed to go off the deep end with the passing of his grandfather. Dennis was in his own fantasy world. He was ashamed of his sexuality yet he took many males both straight and gay to his home with him from the bars that he was at. He would then offer them drinks and a meal. A fear of being lonely or not being loved and abandonment he would kill these men. He would sleep with them after they were deceased sit them up in a chair and have conversations with them as though they were still alive.
A must read for all True Crime Lovers!!!
