Big city Chicago Police Detective, Ella Flynn, is summoned to the small town of Prosper, Georgia, when her father, Ray Flynn, is killed. A second murder amps up the investigation. Mayor Big Dick Wheeler’s son, Junior, is tagged for one of the crimes, and Bobby Dean thinks the burglar did it, but Ella has her own theory. She has to find Larry-with-the-Limp, because he has all the answers. Ella’s Police Chief wants her back in Chicago. She’s running out of time. Going back to Chicago will leave her father’s murderer free to kill again. Jackson Lee Armstrong, the local funeral director, who has captured Ella’s heart with his soft, Southern charm, doesn’t want to let her go, and neither does Walter, her late father’s Bassett Hound.
