The book introduces Cognitive Process Alpha which is how evolution designed the human brain to operate. We demonstrate that the process is mental “firmware.” It is a fixed program in the mind that we cannot change or avoid. It is necessary for productive thinking and no relevant intellectual contribution has ever been made or can be made without it. The finding has three major implications:

• Superior mental performance. Unwittingly, we all follow cognitive process alpha every day. However, awareness and conscious development of the technique will lead to more and greater intellectual achievements with significantly less effort.

• A “new” method for science. It is not that the Scientific Method is a myth, it is just that scientists have always followed a different procedure. Cognitive process alpha applies to all human intellectual activity including science. We show that a discipline that mostly adheres to the process vastly outperforms one that tries to force conformity to the Scientific Method.

• Raising geniuses. Infants can effortlessly master certain complex cognitive abilities if developed at an early age. Cognitive process alpha is one of those age-sensitive skills. We all have it underdeveloped because we did not nurtured it at the appropriate formative stage. We will never reach our full intellectual potential but our kids might. Teaching the process to children can produce individuals with intelligence at the genius level.

Discovering that the mind needs the support of innate structures to operate at peak intellectual performance is not unexpected, other psychological abilities function in the same way. However, identifying the specific process is a major breakthrough. Cognitive process alpha shows us how to use mental capabilities to their maximum potential; it will change how we make everyday decisions as well as drive intellectual and scientific progress.
