Fairy Tale Remnants is a collection of surreal illustrated short prose about characters pulled out of dreams. Skeletons, professional fighters, an exotic dancer, historical figures, anthropomorphic beasts, fated lovers, a stalker, a naked merchant, a robot, and reptiles show up and confront each within the confines of an arena devoted to playing out scenes from our collective subconscious. While in the guise of cartoon characters, the players of these symbolic battles act out scenes from some strange mythology. In these modern fables, there is no moralistic outcome. We watch anyway, pulled in by the dark symbolism of these cultural icons engaging in new contemporary folklore tinged with creepiness and humor.
